The collection consists of one copybook kept by Lieutenant H. C. Baldwin, containing financial ledgers and account, drafts
of correspondence, and legal documents, many from the Town of Beacon Falls. Included is a testimony in a dispute between a
man named James L. Howell and two freed slaves in Dahlonega, Georgia. The collection also includes a letter (written on the
reverse side of a document with header: Form of application for, and order of commital of indigent insane persons, and insane
paupers to the Conn. Hospital for the Insane) concerning a debt owed to Baldwin.
